Ramaswamy (Ram) Nagappan is the Chief Information Officer for BNY Mellon | Pershing. With more than 30 years of information technology experience, Ram oversees the firm’s technology product management and digital experience delivery for wealth management solutions. As a member of Pershing’s Executive Committee and BNY Mellon’s Technology Executive Council, he is closely involved in setting the firm’s strategic direction. A spokesperson on technology trends and issues, Ram has been featured in a number of technology and financial publications and on Bloomberg Radio. He is a regular keynote speaker and panelist at industry events and conferences.
Ram has been instrumental in developing many award-winning solutions. Most recently, Ram was recognized by ComputerWorld as a Premier 100 IT Leader and by the New Jersey Technology Council as “CIO of the Year.” Prior to assuming his current role, Ram served as managing director and chief technology officer at DLJdirect and CSFBdirect, pioneers in online internet brokerage. He also played a significant role in establishing iNautix Technologies India Private Limited at Chennai, India, a technology affiliate of BNY Mellon that provides an array of technology development service. In these roles, Ram’s work was focused on business areas including clearance, settlement and trading order management, as well as market making.
Before joining Pershing, he was a technology consultant to Guardian Life Insurance, Bakst International and Data Software Research Corp. Ram is a member of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Operations & Technology Advisory Committee and has served on technology advisory committees for various national securities exchanges. A graduate of Anna University Chennai (India), Ram earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronics and Communication. He has also completed the Securities Industry Institute® (SII) program, sponsored by the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA) at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Rohan Amin is Chief Information Officer of Consumer & Community Banking (CCB) at JPMorgan Chase, which serves nearly half of America’s households with a broad range of financial services, including personal banking, credit cards, mortgages, auto financing, investment advice, wealth management, and small business loans. Rohan manages a technology budget of $4 billion and over 12,000 technologists globally. He is a member of the CCB Leadership Team and the firm’s Global Technology Operating Committee (GTOC).
Previously, Rohan was the Global Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and Chief Technology Controls Officer (TCO) for JPMorgan Chase. He was responsible for the firm’s cybersecurity, technology controls and resiliency programs. He led the firm’s fortification of its cyber defenses and developed a world leading Information Security team. He also led the company’s Identity & Access Management and Technology Resiliency programs. He was the Chair of the Board for the Financial Systemic Analysis and Resilience Center (FSARC) and the Vice Chair of the Financial Services Information Sharing and Analysis Center (FS-ISAC). He is currently a Board Director for Ionic Security and on the Technical Advisory Board for Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania.
Rohan came to JPMorgan Chase in 2014 from Lockheed Martin, where he led the development of the corporation’s global computer network defense strategy and the creation of the Lockheed Martin Computer Incident Response Team (LM-CIRT). He also ran Lockheed Martin’s Global Cybersecurity Solutions division that provided advanced information technology, cyber and electronic warfare systems and solutions to the U.S. Department of Defense, Intelligence Community and international customers.
Rohan was a three-time recipient of Lockheed Martin’s NOVA award, its highest recognition. Within the defense industry, he was instrumental in establishing the Defense Security Information Exchange (DSIE), a cyber threat fusion and sharing forum between major defense industrial base partners. Rohan also co-authored the seminal paper on Intelligence Driven Defense and the Cyber Kill Chain – which introduced the world to new analytical tradecraft for combating Advanced Persistent Threats.
Rohan was also recognized as the Global CISO 2017 Breakaway Leader of the Year, the 2017 Information Security Executive People’s Choice Winner and the 2017 Information Security Northeast Executive of the Year.
Rohan obtained his Bachelor of Science in Computer and Telecommunications Engineering and his Master of Science in Telecommunications and Networking from the University of Pennsylvania. He also received his doctoral degree in Engineering Management and Systems Engineering from the George Washington University. He lives with his wife and two sons in New York.
Prior to Equinix, Mr. Dustzadeh served as Head of Global Network & Software Platform at Uber. There, he and his team were responsible for the architecture, engineering and operations of Uber’s global network infrastructure, as well as software platforms enabling the company’s worldwide business.
Justin is an industry-recognized thought leader on software-defined infrastructure and has a wealth of executive experience, including leadership roles at Visa, Huawei, Ericsson, AT&T, a video search startup which he co-founded, and two leading telco service providers in France.
He holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Computer Science from Télécom Paris, and a B.S. in Theoretical Physics from École Normale Supérieure (Ulm) in Paris.
