I’m a writer based in the San Francisco Bay Area and my two nonfiction books were published in 2018 (DADDYKINS by Bloomsbury: bit.ly/2AMZDdy ) and 2019 (AN ENGLISH MADE IN INDIA by Aleph Book Company: bit.ly/AEMIIAmz ). To know more about my work, go to bit.ly/2KMpmoW. During my short stay in Singapore I’m writing weekly LETTERS FROM SINGAPORE ( bit.ly/38eCXf0 ).
My writing has appeared in several regional and national magazines in the United States. I was a monthly columnist for India Currents Magazine where I wrote a popular column titled “ON INGLISH”. A feature I wrote for India Currents won me a New America Media prize; some of these columns won the San Francisco Peninsula Press Club prize.
In 2011, I won a first prize—and the attention of an agent—at a competition at Kepler’s Books in Menlo Park for the best one-minute book pitch; it catalyzed some of my book-length writing projects based on India. In fall 2019, my book, DADDYKINS, was used as part of the curriculum in a creative writing course, Uses of Personal Experience, at San Francisco State University: bit.ly/2kesfsu
